Achieving near鈥憐ero emission levels, while delivering 156 HP without compromising power, performance, or fuel economy, that鈥檚 the challenge fully met by the compact and powerful Cummins QSF3.8 engine. This engine enjoys wide popularity in the market, and so it has an extensive service network. It鈥檚 the engine Sunward required to power the SWE155FW.
Premium Components
All key components in Sunward excavators are carefully selected, from the Cummins engine to hydraulics. Hydraulics are often regarded as the heart of the machine. That鈥檚 why Sunward sources exclusively from the highest products. For the SWE155FW, we selected a premium brand, KPM for the hydraulic pump and swing motor and KYB to be our main supplier for the Main Control Valve (MCV). Highly reliable brands that are known for their high efficiency and long鈥憀ife components, designing them specifically to meet the demands of hydraulic excavators.
Built to last
The SWE155FW has been designed with durability in mind. The Cummins engine has built a reputation for high durability, even in extreme working conditions. With special attention on key parts of the SWE155FW, such as the boom and the arm, which are designed with an increased sheet material thickness.
All supporting elements are made of high鈥憇trength, high鈥慸uctility, and structural steel die鈥慺orged pieces. This has the great advantage of providing elements with both high wear resistance and structural strength. This process delivers a massive increase in reliability operating under heavy鈥慸uty work.
The SWE155FW鈥檚 heavy-duty implements are delicately annealed, which eliminates the residue stress in weld seams and increases the machine鈥檚 reliability significantly. After welding, the natural cooling process is prevented by heating the metal in an isolated chamber to 1112 鈥� 1472掳F and then cooling it down slowly (5 鈥� 8 hours), avoiding residual stress and defects.聽
Last but not least, the X chassis has been reinforced, bringing excellent resistance to distortion.
Low consumption
Thanks to the inline 4-cylinder Cummins QSF3.8 engine, the SWE155FW uses less fuel, with total fluid efficiency (including both fuel and Diesel Exhaust Fluid) improved by up to 3 percent, with no compromise on performance.
Sunward鈥檚 SWE155FW medium excavator also has the highest hydraulic efficiency, which results in low fuel consumption. With the new premium quality main pump from KPM, and the innovative thinking from Sunward, we increased the machine鈥檚 displacement by 7%, power by 4%, and volume efficiency by 6% 鈥� making the entire excavator more energy efficient.
Finally, thanks to the 3 attachment work modes, operators can enjoy versatility, but also fuel consumption optimization.

Thanks to the 3 separate auxiliary lines (2 of them are equipped with a shut-off valve for easy and oil leakage-free installation of attachments), the 3 bucket working modes, and the 3 attachment work modes, an operator needs only a few minutes to fully appreciate the possibilities offered.
Easy to maintain
To reduce maintenance time and cost, the covers at the rear and on the side open fully to provide direct access to the service points. With very easy access to the fuel tank and centralized grease fittings, the SWE155FW is as easy to maintain as it is to operate.
